Parks and Gardens
There are a number of parks in Laurus. The biggest is Pomona, which boasts English, French and Japanese gardens. It is affiliated with Laurus University’s botany and natural science departments.
All parks are free to enter but special events may require an entrance fee.
If you want to go further afield there are some lovely hiking spots on the southern half of Laurus Island, including some costal and clifftop walks and meadow and forest areas. Collatina is perhaps the most famous and accessible of these trails and can easily be accessed by both public transport and car.
Please note that costal hiking is not advised during the strong winds that may occur in the winter months.
